Ideas and Issues for Semester 1

Ideas and issues as result of a meeting today with fellow academic colleagues from Arts side of the faculty and Learning teaching support we raised the issue do students know how to conduct a professional meeting, to produce an agenda, review previous mintues and record the minutes of a meeting. One suggestion is to operate the lecture in the style of meeting with an agenda. This would provide an opportunity for the students to participate in a formal meeting and in terms of LTA a more novel lecturing style. Second idea may be to ask or encourage students when conducting meetings for a project to audio record the meetings and post recording on the VLE for the module. Audio recording a meeting may encourage more professional approach to conducting meetings. Both ideas are worth exploring with the a commerical project based module.
